PSJA has plenty of experience returning in 2010 led by all valley and all-district 31-5A MVP Rolando Garcia (sr.), P/C. Garcia is one of the best players in the Rio Grande Valley. He is a dominate pitcher as well as catcher with a terrific bat (switch-hitter). Rolando Garcia (sr.), 1B, is a fi ne hitting and defensive ballplayer. Danny Orozco (sr.), 2B, and Edgar Cavazos (sr.), SS, provide strength up the middle for the Bears. Cavazos and Orozco have been starting since their sophomore years. Gabriel Garza (sr.) will return with varsity game experience. Carlos Barraza (sr.), OF, will be a starter in centerfield. Guadalupe Magallan (sr.), OF, who is scheduled to start in left field played on the junior varsity last season. The Bears were upset by Weslaco in bi-district action last year winning the first game series, but losing the last two.
The Bears will look to go further in the playoffs in 2010. The Bears have both pitching and experience returning. They will be tough to knock off the during district play. The Bears went 24-6 in 2008 and 23-10 in 2009, so with 47 victories under their belt, this could be an excellent year for the Bears.
