Assistant Coaches: Dan Gomez, Rick Caballero, Eleazar Escobedo
2009 Record: 13-13, District: 4-10

Coach Marroquin has had one year to place style of play into the Wolverine program. Last year the Wolverines played with a lot of underclassman, and this year will be the same except for the fact that they now have 26 games under their belt.
“I feel our experience and depth give us a chance to be successful this year,” said Coach Marroquin. The Wolverines were 13-13 overall and 4-10 in district fi nishing in 6th place in the district race.
The Wolverines will be led by spunky Jose Luis Caballero (sr.), SS/P. Caballero hit .346 with 6 2B and 17 SB in 2009. Gilbert Gutierrez (jr.), OF, 2nd team all-district hit .364 with 4 2B, 1 3B, and 16 RBI last season. Steven Ramos (sr.), OF, hit .324 with 9 RBI last year. Christopher Cantu (jr.), P/3B, who gained honorable mention all-district also returns for the Wolverines.
The other members of the Wolverine squad are Gerry Pichard (jr.), 2B/P; Johnathan Mireles (jr.), P/OF; Raul Medina (jr.), OF; Freddy Rodriguez (jr.), 1B; promising newcomer Bernie Saenz (soph.), C; and Joey Perales (soph.), P/OF.
The projected lineup will be in order Caballero (SS), Ramos (OF), Gutierrez (OF), Saenz(C), Cantu (3B), Perales (P), Rodriguez (1B), Mireles (OF), and Pichardo (OF).
“The ability to make the routine play consistently and to develop the ‘TEAM’ fi rst concept will be the key to having a successful season,” said Coach Marroquin.
In 2008 the Wolverines reached the playoffs for the fi rst time in school history. The 2010 edition will be a team that the whole district must worry about as the Wolverines have grown up since last season.
well lets see if they can beat bears this year!!! lmao
