The State 7 on 7 Tournament began today in College Station, Texas. Both La Villa and Hidalgo started the day differently. Hidalgo held a one score lead on Eastland 21-14 at the half and led 27-14 in the second half before losing steam. Eastland capitalized on missed Hidalgo opportunities and a costly interception on the final drive sealed the game 27-40 Eastland.
La Villa fell behind Seminole 28-20 at the half but came to life in the second half. Using a bevy of long throws, and key defensive stops, La Villa controlled the tempo and won their first game 49-40.
