Defending Champs to Kick Off NBA Development League Season Live on VERSUS

MCALLEN, TEXAS – The NBA Development League Champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced Tuesday that their regular season opener against the Texas Legends has been moved up to Thursday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. at State Farm Arena and will be broadcast live on VERSUS.

The Vipers will also play the Erie BayHawks at 7:15 p.m. live on VERSUS on January 12 at the South Padre Island Convention Centre during the NBA Development League Showcase.

Of the 11 regular season games scheduled to be broadcast on VERSUS, the two Vipers games are the only ones currently scheduled to be aired live. The other nine will be aired on a same-day tape delay. VERSUS will re-air the NBA Development League Showcase Slam Dunk and Three-Point Contests. Additionally, six post-season games will be shown on VERSUS.

The Vipers were 3-0 during the regular season on VERSUS last season, with all three games coming at State Farm Arena. Including the playoffs, the Vipers were 6-1 on VERSUS (5-1 at home).
