MCALLEN, TEXAS – The defending NBA Development League champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced Monday that they have acquired forward Stanley Robinson (6-9, 210, Connecticut), who was drafted in the second round (59th overall) by the Orlando Magic during the 2010 NBA Draft.
To make room on the roster, the Vipers waived guard Isaiah Swann (6-2, 195, Florida State).
The 22-year old Robinson played in five preseason games with the Magic, averaging 2.0 points, and 2.4 rebounds and 8.2 minutes.
Robinson played in 126 career games during his four years at the University of Connecticut, averaging 9.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.03 blocks and 26.3 minutes. He helped the Huskies reach the NCAA Final Four in 2009.
Swann averaged 7.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 15.3 minutes in three games off the bench.
