Four District Titles In A Row Are Well Within Reach

The 2012 PSJA Bears have yet another district title well within reach with the return of seven returning starters and some talented letterman and newcomers.  “We definitely need someone to step up to the plate and be a team leader.  If we can overcome the pressure of being expected to win the district this year, we will have a good season,” said second year head coach Marco Guajardo.  Bryan Ramirez is the leader of the strong hitting lineup. Ramirez has been a very dependable player for the PSJA program over the last three years.  Standouts Joey Garza and Alberto Morales are proven players on the mound and will be counted on in 2012.  Speedy Iram Tijerina and dangerous Damian Villescas will also be key components of the Bear team. “One major concern is that the guys need to learn to come together and play their roles and play as a team because we are going to have some great talent on the bench with seven starters returning from last season.  We need to play as a team and not as individuals,” added Coach Guajardo.  The Bears will be aiming to go further in the playoffs this season after defeating Los Fresnos in the Bi-District round then losing to a very talented McAllen squad in the Area round.  PSJA will be one of the top teams in South Texas in 2012.
