The Chargers Are Beginning Their Second Season Of Play
Coach Ruben Aymes will begin his second season with a little more experience than last season where the Chargers went 1-23 in their first season of play. Seven returning starters will be the key in order for the Chargers to become more competitive. “Our success will be determined by how much fundamental baseball we can play,” said Coach Aymes. Junior Robert Gonzales is an excellent player who made first team all-district last season at shortstop. Gonzales will lead a group of seven juniors this season. The Chargers have no seniors on their roster. Lee Sanchez could be another key as he will be doing the catching along with some pitching after transferring from Porter where he was the starting catcher. Veterans will have to take small steps but, once this program gets going they will be yet another strong baseball program from the Brownsville area.
