Local welterweight Roberto “La Amenaza” Garcia (31-3, 21 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over Antwone Smith (21-4-1, 12 KOs) on Friday night at the Pharr Convention Center in Pharr, Texas. Scores were 98-92, 97-93, 97-93.
In a clash of jr middleweights coming off their first losses, James De la Rosa (21-1, 12 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Tyrone Brunson (21-2-1, 20 KOs). Brunson was credited with a knockdown in round two, but De la Rosa was in command for most the fight.
