The Hanna Eagles had a very solid season in 2016, finishing in the fourth spot, by winning the bi-district match-up against the district champion Edinburg North Cougars from 31-6A. The Eagles were defeated in the Area round by Palmview in a very competitive series. This season the sky is the limit with the return of six starters and several returning lettermen. Noe Guerrero is one of the top pitchers and workers in all South Texas. Guerrero went 6-2 with an ERA of 2.08 during his sophomore season. The top returning hitter is Lee Alonzo who hit .345 to go along with 14 RBIs in 2016. The top returning RBI man is Cristian Gonzalez who had 16 and hit .321 last season. Cesar Saldana with .245 with 12 RBIs, Jonathan Castro .288 with 6 RBIs, and Mikey Gomez .268 with 7 RBIs are the other returning starters. Freshman Cristian Holloway looks to be another very solid addition to the Eagle squad this year. “Experience should be our strength. Expectations are always very high here and I’m challenging these boys to do what no other Hanna baseball team has done before,” said Coach Eddie Garcia. “Hard work and a little luck will definitely help in this always tough district,” added Coach Garcia.

They have gone 22-10 1st place (2009); 16-17 4th place (2010); 15-14 3rd place (2011); 22-8 1st place (2012); 22-6 1st place (2013); 13-8 2nd place (2014); 14-10 3rd place (2015). The Eagles will battle Los Fresnos for the District Title in 2017.
