Coach Roy Rodriguez is working hard to get the Vikings back on track.  Their players are now very involved with the summer and fall baseball leagues which is a tribute to Coach Rodriguez.  Five starters return in 2017 led by 1st Team All-District first baseman Santos Rodriguez.  “We lost two of our starting pitchers to other schools, so we have to adapt and do with what we have,” said Coach Rodriguez, who is beginning his second season at Pace and 8th overall.  “Our district will be one that is very competitive and I believe the district race will come down to the last week of the season. Overall, we will be a young team with another year of varsity play.  Our goal is to be competitive and put ourselves in a position to win, and make the playoffs.  As we all say, anything can happen on any given night,” added Coach Rodriguez. The Pace Vikings have not been to the playoffs since 2011 when they finished 2nd and have gone a combined 75-112 since 2009 with them finishing 6th last season.  Coach Rodriguez has put in some hard work during the off-season and slowly the Vikings will climb up the leader board.
