Killer Bees vs Arizona Listen Live!

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees are set for their first trip out of Texas this season traveling to Arizona to face the Sundogs. The Bees just completed a nine-game homestand in which they finished 7-2-0.

The most recent victory came last Saturday night as the Bees defeated the Laredo Bucks 5-2 behind a pair of Aaron Lee goals. Lee has been on a tear as of late and has six goals and nine points in his last five games. Brandon Campos, AJ Mikkelsen and Charles Fontaine also scored for the Bees. It was the first goal of the season for Fontaine.

The Bees and Sundogs have faced off twice this season, both at the State Farm Arena. The Bees defeated the ‘Dogs in both games winning 4-3 in a shootout on November 11 and scoring a 3-1 victory on November 12.

The month of November has been kind to the Bees thus far with a 7-2-0 record. The most wins in the month of November for the Bees was eight during the 2009-10 season in which the Bees went 8-3-3.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees complete their nine-game homestand this weekend hosting the Laredo Bucks at the State Farm Arena for a two-game series beginning tonight. The Bucks are making their first regular season visit to the Hive this season. The Bees and Bucks have faced off twice this season with each team winning one game, Laredo 4-3 on Oct. 28 and the Bees 6-3 on Oct. 29.
The Killer Bees are coming off a 4-3 overtime victory over the Allen Americans on Wednesday night. AJ Mikkelsen scored the game winning goal with only 44 seconds remaining in the extra frame. Mikkelsen was the third defenseman to register a goal in the victory with Nicolas Rioux and Tim Billingsley also striking the back of the net. Jason Beeman registered the other Bees goal.

The Bees nine-game homestand comes to a close this weekend with the final two games against Laredo. The Bees are 5-2-0 so far on the long homestand. The Bees have registered victories over Texas, Tulsa, Arizona and Allen during this stretch.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees fell to the Allen Americans 5-2 last night on game six of their nine-game homestand. The Bees fell behind 2-0 early in the second period but tied the game at two thanks to goals from Jason Beeman and Jason Dixon.
Allen scored with only 0.6 seconds left in the second period and didn’t look back adding a pair of third period strikes (one on an empty net). For Beeman it was his first goal of the season and for Dixon it was his second. Wylie Rogers made 30 saves in net in his second start since returning to the Valley.
Tonight marks the Bees debut of Reid Edmondson. Edmondson scored four goals and registered one assist against the Bees last season while with the Laredo Bucks. Overall Edmondson scored 10 goals with five assists during his rookie season.
The Bees nine-game homestand comes to a close this week with three more games. The Bees face-off against Allen tonight and twice against the Laredo Bucks on Friday and Saturday.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees continue their nine-game homestand welcoming the Allen Americans back to the State Farm Arena. Tonight is Allen’s second trip to the Hive previously defeating the Killer Bees 3-1 on Nov. 9.

The Bees are coming off back to back victories against the Arizona Sundogs over the weekend. The Bees defeated the ‘Dogs 4-3 in a shootout on Friday night and 3-1 on Saturday night. In the Saturday night affair Aaron Lee scored twice for the Bees to increase him team lead to seven goals through nine games.

David Marshall added the extra net goal for the Bees with only seconds left on the clock. The Bees will be without the service of David Marshall starting tonight as he was recalled to the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL. Marshall has been called to the Rampage three times this season already.

The Bees nine-game homestand comes to a close this week with four games. The Bees face-off twice against Allen and twice against the Laredo Bucks on Friday and Saturday.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees continue their nine-game homestand tonight against the Arizona Sundogs. The Bees had their three-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday falling to Allen 3-1. The Bees are 2-1-0 so far during the long homestand with victories over Texas and Tulsa.

Allen raced out to an early 2-0 lead on Wednesday before David Marshall and the Bees struck back midway through the first frame. For Marshall it is his second goal of the season in four games played. The Bees and Americans would battle back and forth with neither team finding the back of the net until 16:33 of the third when Colton Yellow Horn iced the game for the Americans.

The Killer Bees and the Arizona Sundogs will tangle in five seperate series this season with the Bees heading west for the Thanksgiving holiday playing in Prescott Valley, Ariz. on November 25 and 26. The Bees struggled against the ‘Dogs last season going on 1-6-1 against Arizona.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees will once again face the Laredo Bucks as they continue the hunt for their first win of the young season. The Bees will turn to Dan Dunn in between the pipes. Last night Laredo held off the Bees for a 4-3 victory. Jake Hauswirth scored twice and Aaron Lee scored once in the Bees defeat.
