Cougars Blow Out Harlingen Thanks To Big Fourth Inning

 

Edinburg North defeated Harlingen 9-2 on Friday thanks to five runs in the fourth inning. Edinburg North Cougars Varsity’s big inning was driven by a single by Juan Almeida, a triple by Argelio Guajardo, and a single by Jonathan Salas.

Edinburg North took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Juan Almeida singled off of Connor Harlan, driving in one run, Marc Esquivel hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, Argelio Guajardo tripled off of Harlan, driving in two runs, and Jonathan Salas singled off of Harlan, driving in one run.

Giancarlo Servin earned the win for Edinburg North Cougars Varsity. He went seven innings, giving up two runs, three hits, and striking out nine. Harlan took the loss for Harlingen. He pitched five innings, giving up seven runs, ten hits, and striking out four.

Edinburg North collected 11 hits. Guajardo, Guillermo Oyervides, Almeida, and Jose Salinas each collected multiple hits for Edinburg North Cougars Varsity. Salinas, Almeida, Oyervides, and Guajardo each managed two hits to lead Edinburg North Cougars Varsity.
