You know what that game was highly officiated and all there fans ran out into the field thats against the rules thats probably why it was called unsportsmanlike conduct. I think.

I've never seen that ever in high school football. The only time was when weslaco had that Fight in '95!!!

I understand it was there first win in a long time but Edinburg does need to work on their sportsmanship. The Panther players had to wait a while for the Edinburg players to line up and shake hands. Thats fine if you want to celebrate but at least shake hands first and then celebrate all you want. I didnt have a problem with the students running on the field. That happens. Just dont keep the other team waiting around cause of it. As far as the coaches I didnt pay attention to them.

I was at the game. It was a good game. I don't understand Tony V's comments. The Bobcats had quite a few injuries too. There one of their running backs was hurt before the half and did not return. Their quarterback took a vicious hit on the winninng touchdown pass too. As for high school kids that is a silly thing to say when you are making your living coaching high school kids. I have seen some very mature, focused high school kids, (Bradley, Mishak, the Springers, the Taylor boys, Clarence Cruz, Carlos Salas and the list goes on). I have also seen some immature ones. The thing I saw last night was a group of high school kids who saw the result of staying focused despite all the heartache from last year losing their coach and going 0-10 and hearing all the disparaging remarks made about them, their coaches and their school. They finally won a hard fought game against a quality team and the joy they showed was a good thing to see. As for the unsportsmanship issue. It is unsportsmanship if you intentionally keep someone waiting or don't shake their hands. When the students rushed the field it looked like it was hard for the coaches and players to get organized into the handshake line when everyone was swarming them. They did get in line and shake hands with all the players and the coaches too. It was a good game and all you can do no matter what team you support is to congratulate the Bobcats for persevering through everything and winning.

Yea I remember our playoff game v. PSJA North and I caught a 10 and out and layed out a ball boy on the North side after their player hit me out of bounds. I helped the kid up and gave him a pat on the back :)

I mean, you get to be on the sidelines, but seriously, I don't think I'd want to be over the age of 15 and doing that. (BTW, i'm not trying to throw any jabs at you).

it's cool buzzy......here's the story on how i came to be down there......last year before the elsa game i was helping take some stuff to the locker room before the game and the QB coach mentioned to another coach that they hadn't brought anyone to do the football's....seeing as how i wanted to stay down on the sideline but didn't have any reason to stay, i said i would do it........been doing it since then. after that first game i would take some of my players or my cousin down on the sideline with me. i always had at least 2 kids from my team helping me.....i would take care of the footballs and they would take them in......sometimes they'd leave me hanging and go up with their girlfriends at halftime so i was stuck.....

i don't get paid for doing this, just something to do to get me close to the action. i get to hear how things are run by coach v.....i'm learning a lot from them on how to handle different game situations.....i'm really amazed sometimes on how efficient they are on the sideline with personnel and things like that.....

We were too excited that we had beat the panthers, actually I really think the panthers gave us this game. They gave up a lot of chances really hard to believe they'd do that. maybe they didn't want to show everything because some lf scouts were there. Thanks panthers for letting us get the W .

Thank You PC. i am very sorry to hear that. It is very hard for someone to lose some one. My condolences to his wife. That just shows how much of a family we are here on the forum. I bet she respected him being on the forum and she let his brothers and sisters know. I have seen people posting additions to their families and now lost of loved ones. Thank you.

yeah buck is cool. his crew really knows they're stuff and you can always count on them to make the right call (well most of the time). haven't seen them yet this year though.

thats why they play the game. anyone can be beat at anytime. CONGRATS TO THE BOBCATS......it was a long time coming for that team good game vs weslaco.weslaco not a very good showing considering you all are playing los fresnos this week. i too did not agree with tony v comments injuries are part of the game other kids have to step it up when u lose someone. about the celebration i have no problem with it you all have to remember they have not won a game in almost 2 yrs and then they just beat a team that was one of the best in the valley they were very excited. people are just feeling that way cuz it happenned to them this time and they dont like it. it doesnt always feel good when someone celebrates and you are just there watching them. good luck the rest of the way to both teams. the games start to mean something know.

Like I have mentioned before We could have played Hidalgo, LF, & Lopez like we did last year and probably have been 3-0 at this point and beating our chest, but would that have prepared us to win district????

I don't think so, I will take our 1-2 and hope that playing good teams has helped us improve our weaknesses.....

What happened at edinburg was what they say..."dont count your chickens before they hatch". it wont happen again, i think this loss actually helped them, bringing them down to reality. The rest of the season will different....
