The question should be would East or high get invited to play Cedar park in thier non district games ? The answer is no. Now at that lets let the year began and see where the cards fall. East can compete and so can Weslaco high lets just see where we stand at the end. For whatever its worth I hope both teams have a great season could you imagine both teams in the playoffs from the same district that would be a accomplishment for WESLACO!!!!

One thing is for sure if Weslaco keeps Toni he will have some to prove and I am pretty sure he would like to go on top than a loosing record. This might be his end in Weslaco but Im pretty sure he wants to go on top.So dont count him out.

I have to agree with you, we are seeing the end of Tony in Weslaco. It's not over yet depending on what South does, however I think we're in good shape if we can just get the AC's from throwing obstacles and hurdles at the football program. With the new district and the arch-rivals in non district action plus throw in East game in there, it's going to be one hell of a tour.

The only I can say is lets give the kids that are there a chance to prove themselves and put all on the table. Why dont we just let them play instead of all this bickering these kids desever a chance my nephew will be starting on the o line next year.

Tony V's days have been numbered for a while now at WISD. The school board is just waiting for a reason. I mean look at what happend to Richard Rivera, they felt the need to fire him a year before his retirement...

yes you went twice to the 3rd round 2 years in a roll but this is a whole new district. You can't compare what was done then...to what coming to them in 31 5a but i do see east adjusting well.I guess will just gotta see and wait.I personally dont' have a clue where any of this teams are standing(which makes it even more exciting).Mcallen Memorial might struggle this year but i see them making a huge comeback the following year.We have one of the best coaches in RGV.I have total confidence on bill littleton.

Toni is Toni sometimes his mouth gets him into trouble if he would stuck to coaching than he probably would not had these kinds of problems. He's great coach and a mentor for these kids but at that he should of kept to football.

I have to disagree with you.

The School Board has actually extended his contract now a few times. If the Board wanted him out, they would have never extended his contract to begin with. They don't need a reason to fire him when they could easily reassign him like they have done with every coach who has preceded him.

Mr. Villarreal's problems are not with the school board, but with both of the coordinators at Weslaco High. Seeing how they're home grown Weslaco Boys, it's not a battle he can win alone.

I don't know who would replace Tony if he would leave, but if I had to choose I would pick Defense Coordinator, Coach Stroman. Maybe I am a bit bias with my pick because I know him, but he has a lot of attributes I like in a coach. He has done a remarkable job with the defense since his arrival. Having the best Defense two years in a row in District isn't to shabby either.

I also wouldn't mind Baldo Pena running the program but he retired last year.

Now Weslaco Boys returning back to coach the team? ... That's a very short list.
