Will the Johnson Bully Guards prevent the Cards from bullying them on the field?

Carl Padilla messaged me on Facebook that this game will be 8/31 @ Boggus Std. Gametime was not provided, but being a Fri game, I assume it'll be 7ish.

Very encouraging facts, that and knowing how our jv OL had some good size this past season. Depth will be a plus on OL.

    B. Garza looks good in video, w/ good size. Who was wr #11 in video? Great size and hands, him and converting Eric Jorn to wr would give us two tall targets in Powers mold. Btw...Oxford will be back for kicking duties, correct?

Hey, I didn't know Laurie moved to SA. Was surprised to see her there. Nice.

To get their kids ready for yet ANOTHER state title... Their schedule seems easy to me, what is Lake Travis bringing back?

Sorry, have not had a chance to get on here as much as usual. LT returns Varshaun Nixon, their running back who will be a JR. Zach Austin, great receiver who will be a SR. Baker Mayfield, QB who will be a SR. We lose a lot on the OL, and on defense. But it does not worry me too much. Just like in the past years we have great JV and Freshman teams. And most of our underclassmen who are on varsity get a lot of playing time. Even in the playoffs.

And I don't really see the schedule as weak. Converse Judson gave Madison all they could handle in the playoffs, and beat them pretty bad last year. I don't know much about Canyon and what they are about. Westwood will come to play and can play with anyone. A&M has had some good teams. And Bowie and Westlake should be up from last year. Yes, there is not an Aledo on that schedule, but all and all I say it's not the weakest schedule. I do not know also which of those games will be home and away. I would love to go beat all those teams in their own house, especially Judson. I am interested to see if they will keep the Westlake game at DKR stadium, or bring Judson to DKR?

I think we will be fine this year. Not predicting another title, cause they are always tough to come by. But I will say we are "in the mix". Good luck to all!

Sorry Lar Card, I do not know the answer to that question. lol, if you figure it out let me know. I don't see why a team can't use their bye week on week 10 though?

I don't think the teams have any say on when they play their district opponents. Having a week 10 bye is an advantage and I honestly have never heard of a team having a week 10 bye. It would be interesting to know how this came about.

back in the day, i remember the cardinals having a non-district game toward the end of the season, they would always play MMA around week 7 or 8 if i remember correctly.

That is correct. In '92 we played Monterrey Tech in week 8 I believe.

As far as Brandon Garza, I think he will be the QB. It's between him and C.J. from J.V. He's pretty darn good himself! It's a toss up, both are very talented!
