Let's not get it twisted. You've gotten past easier coastal bend teams, a reward for winning district the last 2 seasons. The last 2 playoff runs were like this.
2010
CC Ray
Victoria West
2011
Alice
Victoria East
Lets face it, these are not traditionally playoff powerhouses. On top of that, 3 of those games were decided by 7 points. That means you barely squeaked by these teams, then got donkey stomped by CP. And no, East did NOT average 9-11 passes a game. I'd like to see where you got those stats from. The only way that comes out being true is if East passed +15 times each playoff game because during the regular season they were only passing maybe 5 times a game.

Exactly right the fact is if they had to play McAllen Memorial this year what would have been the outcome plus any team with the road they had to make it to the third round would have made it. He thinks Weslaco East is going to have an easy road well he's got another thing coming.

Here you go, second paragraph "he averages 9 tosses a game" :http://m.midvalleytowncrier.com/arti...y-offense.html . Is there such thing as an easy 4a coastal bend team. Beating these teams in preseason is one thing but in the playoffs through the records out. Everybody starts 0-0 in the playoffs, and your right east played a fourth place alice team first cause they were rewarded for having a great season. Does that meen all those years ee won district they had an easy road in the playoffs? No it just meens u take care of who ever is put in front of you. Again you might call these teams weak but thats your opinion. Records outside the valley are not valley records. Alot of these coastal bend 4as have given valley 5a fits in preseason. Lets take ccray last year yes they were a.fourth place team but they had a qb that was being called a top recruit in texas, breaking records and what not. Then facing west in a back and fourth game was exiting in san antonio. Then we can take alice this year who entered the playoffs 4-6 , but dont let that record decieve you. Its first three nondistsict games were loses to eventual 5a district champions, port arthur memorial, alexander, weslaco, thene its regular season loses were to undefeated dc calallen, and flour bluff, kingsville, all playoff teams. Then we get to victory east, this was the second place team behind plc, in 304a, they had the districts leading rusher and east won as well. Yes we did get stomped by cedar park but cedar park is cedar park. If there was no lake travis wede probably be saying cedar park as the repeating state champ. So yea the fact that east has come up veey short against a state title type contender, is alright by me. its rare valley teams get an opportunity to do it. I belive beating four outside the valley playoffs teams in the past two years is a big accomplishment that not many valley teams can say. But I know to you it just meant they were weak teams, but I beg to differ. The playoffs bring out the best of every team.

Yes wes lover ive heard this argument before but like before what particulary do I not know what im talking about. I meen I try very much to back up what I say whether its with articles or quotes or stats. For examplae if I were to say east averages 9 passes a game, I would of been scoffed at like I was by town crier and humpster dumpster. So I pos articles like this:http://m.midvalleytowncrier.com/arti...y-offense.html to back up my claims. I dont keep stats personally but when I go to the games I pick up things, and I went to a couple of games to know east passes more than five times a game.

1) Yes, I believe that every region has weak teams. There are plenty of 4a Central Texas, Dallas, and Houston area schools that valley teams would beat.
2) I'm sorry I'm going to need clarification on this one please. Who was their quarterback and in what universe was he considered a top recruit?
I see no reason why WE or EE couldn't do this very same thing to a CB school.

The same reason lake travis was beating flour bluff 40 to zero at halftime. Bigger athletes,. I say corpus and maybe some san ant schools we can say we are on the same playing field. But you guys got some big dudes over there. And now that youve established your statr title and contender ways what parent would not want to put there kids in those schools to get talent. East was schooled up and down by a better team in cedar park. You could see the difference in size.its hard to beat a team thats bigger, faster, and more athletic then your team. But no one said it was gnna be easy either. Were still not at that point to contend but if east keeps chipping away and seeing the way those kinda teams play not only by viewing them but by playing them, it has to be a positive.

For an area like yours that has the athletes to compete for a state title year in and out I could see travis and park competing every year. But for a valley team you would need a very very special team to pull that off. Harlingen is the team that has seemed to of broken the mold when it comes to competing against norther out of valley competition, just hoping the valley can follow suit.
