    Mosley KOs Mayorga!

In a junior middleweight clash between former world champions, Shane Mosley (45-5, 38 KOs) scored an entertaining twelfth round KO over Ricardo Mayorga (28-7-1, 22 KOs) on Saturday night at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Mayorga was more effective early, but Shane began to figure him out in round three. Round six was a big round for Mosley as Mayorga invited him to take a number of shots and Mosley obliged. The second half of the fight was more of an ugly brawl, but in the twelfth, Mosley exploded, flooring Mayorga twice to impressively end it. Time was 2:59.

WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (23-0, 19 KOs) outworked former world titlist and Contender: Season Two star Steve Forbes (33-7, 9 KOs) over twelve rounds to take a clear cut 118-109, 118-109, 116-111 unanimous verdict.

I think Berto is talented but he gets hit way too much to beat any of the elite guys. He needs to really tighten up on his defensive consistency. a couple of rounds he looks solid but then he will allow himself to get peppered.

Mosley sucks bad, all he was doing was holding, holding, throw a jab, hold, hold...smile, hold again...duck and hold...

i dont think the judge gave mayorga the mandatory standing 8 count either..

Mayorga was out of it after that last left hook by Mosely, which was brutal. Even if there was more time, he wouldn't have gotten up.

"Standing eight count" please read....1st knock-down, you hit the canvas you have to get an eight count, even if you get up at 1...after the count of eight ref is supposed to ask you twice, are you ok, you want to continue, then allow the other fighter to pounce on you...

2nd knock down wouldn't have occured if this had happened...IMO Mayorga was winning the fight...

Mayorga looked out of it after that FIRST knockdown. Standing 8 count wouldn't have mattered anyways. I was rooting for Mayorga myself but I still had Mosely winning the fight.

BTW, that left hook that floored Mayorga was nasty.

    Abraham-Marquez Presser !
King Arthur looking forward to “tough challenge”
    against El Diamante

    October 1, 2008

IBF middleweight champion King Arthur Abraham (27-0, 22 KOs) and mandatory challenger Raul Marquez (41-3, 29 KOs) voiced their respect for each other at todayīs press conference in Bamberg. “I am happy to be here in Germany to fight Abraham”, the 37-year-old American stated. “He is a great champion and I do have a lot of respect for him. But I came here to win.” Marquez does not expect the fight to end early. “I donīt think there will be a KO,” he added. “I have prepared myself for 12 rounds. I am ready to exploit Abrahamīs weaknesses.”

King Arthur will be out to please his home fans – Bamberg is the city where he started to box – for a second time in 17 months. Back in May 2007, in his first fight after breaking his jaw against Edison Miranda, the 28-year-old knocked out Sebastien Demers in the third round. But King Arthur knows that Marquez will be a much tougher opponent. “He is fast, mobile and clever,” Abraham assessed. “In other words: He is a really good boxer. That will be a tough challenge for me. In my last mandatory title defense I stopped Khoren Gevor but Marquez is much stronger than him.”

Ulli Wegner also is full of praise for the 37-year-old ex-champion. “I know Marquez for a long, long time,” he said. “I saw him at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. During the times of the GDR, he once fought against on of our guys. Ten years ago he was world champion, and he has gotten stronger and more experienced since. Many people were surprised to see him beat Lorenzo in the eliminator, but not me. Arthur will be in for a hard battle but I expect him to succeed.”

    Peter: I'll chop down Vitali!

    Wednesday, October 1 2008

Immediately following the September 4th press conference in Berlin to announce his October 11th heavyweight title showdown with Vitali Klitschko, WBC Champion Samuel Peter (30-1, 23 KOs) set up training camp in Freiburg, Germany. The "Nigerian Nightmare" has enjoyed a wonderful month-long camp and is in tremendous shape as he winds down and readies to depart for Berlin. "I love it here in Germany. The people and the scenery have been beautiful," said Peter. "I intend on beating Vitali in his own backyard and to show that I am the true champion I decided to train in his backyard. No matter where this fight is I will not be defeated. I hope his brother Wladimir is in attendance to watch him get knocked out....I've been chopping down trees in the Black Forest in preparation for Vitali Klitschko," added Peter. "On October 11th, I am going to chop down a Ukrainian tree named Vitali."

    Oscar will continue career!

    Wednesday, October 1 2008

During his NYC presser to announce his December 6 clash with Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya announced that the Pacquiao bout will not be his last after all. "There's no doubt about it. My mind can still do it, my body can still do it. I'm going to ride the wave for a little while." Pacquiao stated "Some people say I'm picking this fight for the money. I'm going to prove everyone wrong."

^The only good thing I see about that news is that it still leaves the door open for a fight with Margarito.

Oscar would get KTFO if he fought Margarito...

So what Oscar fights another boring fight, who cares? So what he doesn't properly promote his fighters, as long as his fights are selling, who cares? Why do you think Barrera left golden boy?

i think dlh just knew that barrera was done with, that is why he didnt promote him that well. ofcourse, barrera felt that and that is why he left golden boy to go with don king. All barrera wants is money, and dlh wasnt giving him the amount that he wanted.
