Try to get Jeff Dicus from Austin Lake Travis, Celina HC-Butch Ford, Alice HC-Brent Davis,Dallas Cowboys Scout Sam Garza....
I would also suggest looking for state-championship coaches from Florida,Louisiana,Oklahoma,or California.
O yea...I went there. The kids deserve the best.

Jeff Dicus is now at Duncanville. If the guy doesn't win there, then he may not be as good as advertised. But trust me, he is a tremendous coach with high expectations and excellent positive motivational skills.

Honestly, you never know guys. Does South pay more than Mercedes does?

Harlingen isnt known to pay its coaches a lot like some other places do. The only reason there is a any chance of Leal at South is because he was on the coaching staff at Harlingen while Randy Cretors was the head coach there and he is the athletic director of H.C.I.S.D. now plus the valley does love to work on the compadre system....but i hope he stays at Mercedes. no offense, but we dont want him at South.

Any word on who has applied for this position? Also, when will they make an announcement on the finalist and finally a coach for these kids.
You can do it if you believe you can.

Is he one of the ones that may be fired due to EE hiring too many people?

I have a feeling there will be at least 1 to 2 finalists for the South job that will be out of the Valley Coaching circles. I don't necessarily think that is the way they need to go, but I have a feeling the superintendent may reach out to his former stomping ground to give a OC/DC coordinator a chance. If that is the case, we may be here in 2 years asking the same question on who will be the coach, if the hire does not adjust to the kids and motivate accordingly.
