Yep heard about this on the news. Not surprised, some just grow inpatient. Its all about getting the W's, and evans wasn't getting it done. I thought this year he would lead the tigers to at least a few wins (2 or 3), and you know get some confidence going in the program but didn't happen.

Wow at least they were more competetive than last year? They were starting to get better. Don't coaches usually get 3 years?

Guess they wanted a quick return on investment. This move will only keep VV in the same place or backward instead of forward.
You can do it if you believe you can.

The Head Coach from Santa Rosa! He arrived there and practically turned that team around in no time. I'm sure he could do the same for Valley View. Hmmm, his names eludes me.

I believe his last name is Gonzalez and he had gotten canned from Valley View when he went to Santa Rosa and turned it around. Valley View wants someone who can turn it around in one year. Crazy board.

Valley View could choose new football coach
RGVSports.com
PHARR - The Valley View ISD could choose the successor to David Evans on Friday.
Posted earlier this week, the agenda for Friday's special meeting of the Valley View ISD Board of Trustees includes, in the executive session, "Interview Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Finalist," and in open session "Consider and take appropriate action on the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach."
The opening for the job closed Jan. 12. In two seasons with Valley View, Evans led the Tigers to a 1-19 record, only managing to upset Mercedes 7-6 during the 2007 season.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Valley View High School conference room.
