2 STATE CHAMPS!!!
Where's the Love? We have 2 State Champs from the Valley (McHi and Rowe)
as of yesterday (2/27/10) and not a word. Let's go guys, cheer on the kids!!!
Congrats to Sam Mangum (189 lb. bracket, boys) and Sara Gonzalez (95 lb, girls). Way to go to represent your school and the valley.
This is Sam's second straight State Championship.

AUSTIN - Two Valley wrestlers were crowned champions at the state meet in Austin on Saturday.
Nikki Rowe's Sara Gonzalez pinned Houston Lamar's Kristina Haddock to win the 95 lb title. Gonzalez wrapped up her senior year with a record of 28-2.
Meanwhile, McAllen's Sam Mangum earned his second-straight state championship after defeating Coppell's Trevor Ward in the 189 lb. finals. With the victory, Mangum was a perfect, 42-0 this year.

I loved it! Sam wasn't given the #1 spot in a division he had already won in the previous year. He was given no love and defended his title. Congrats to the two Valley State Champs!
