This is the season the Diamondbacks have been working hard for.  “We are looking for year 3 to be a breakout year.  We have loads of returners hoping to have our experience and defense carry us through,” said Coach McDaniel.  “Pitching is always the key and with our 1-2 punch of Alec Garcia and Andrew Ogletree, we look to be much improved in this area with plenty of other arms to jump in with Jacob Rosales, Robert Garza, Pedro Tovias, Fernando Valdivia, Adam Alaniz, and Lupe Montoya.  This will be our first real senior class that will seek to lead us. Our kids are hungry in search of competition and a playoff run,” added Coach McDaniel. It seems as though the Diamondbacks have some very versatile players.  Olgetree, hit .283 9 RBI and went 1-3 on the mound with an ERA of 5.34; Garza, .250 10 RBI and 3-1 with an ERA of 7.67; Rosales one of the leading returning hitters at. 362 with 14 RBI and 1-1 3.57; Garcia .143 went 0-3 with an ERA of 3.18; Lugo hit a very solid .328 with 11 RBI and 1 HR; and leading returning hitter at .432 with 7 RBI and 0-1 with an ERA of  4.77 all our good players at the plate, mound, and the field.  In a nine team district it looks like the Diamondbacks, Sharyland, Mission Veterans, Valley View, Rio Grande City, and Roma will be battling for the top four spots and with the Diamondbacks depth this could be the difference this season.
