Stump Lands in Hidalgo

Former Port Isabel coach Monty Stumbaugh lands in Hidalgo as the new head coach of the Pirates and athletic director.

Stumbaugh built an impressive resume at Port Isabel tallying up 115 wins, 62 losses since 2001.

Hidalgo had been under coach David Duty the Pirates went 1-9 in 2016.

The Pirates have been through numerous coaches since the departure of Scott Ford who took them to the playoffs in 2012 with Shea Patterson as the QB.

Since 2012 the Pirates have gone 4-7 (2013),  1-9 (2014), 2-7 (2015), and 1-9 (2016).
