The Weslaco Panthers lost four players from last season ball club who finished in 3rd place last season. The tradition of getting into the playoffs should be no different in 2017.  Six players return that either started and/or started a few games for them last season.  Seniors Nate Campos, David Serna, and Brandon Rodriguez are all solid players who begin their final season as leaders of the Weslaco Panthers. District 32-6A should be a three team race with Weslaco, Hanna, and Los Fresnos fighting it out for the district championship. The Panthers were (13-17) in 2009 4th place; (17-17) 2010 3rd place; (16-13); 2011 (24-8) 1st place; 2012 (16-13) 4th place; 2013 (17-14)  3rd place; 2014 (20-10) 3rd place; 2015 (17-7); and last season (13-12) in 3rd place.  The Panthers have made the playoffs for eight straight seasons, so do not expect anything different this season.
